David Willis, MD

David C. Willis, MD, is a Board Certified Family Physician. He completed his undergraduate studies in mathematics at Stetson University and obtained his Medical Doctorate at the University of South Florida. He completed his medical training at the Florida Hospital Family Practice Residency in Orlando (now Adventhealth) in 2000. Subsequently, he returned to Ocala where he practiced privately, served as Chief Medical Officer at Heart of Florida Health Center FQHC, and is currently affiliated with Sabal Direct Primary Care.
Willis also serves as CommunityHealth IT’s Chief Medical Officer, combining his expertise in both clinical and technology domains to support medical organizations in cybersecurity, workforce development, and the adoption of technology to enhance community health outcomes.
Willis has been a contributing board member of the Cancer Alliance of Marion County for several years and is enthusiastic about this new initiative through the podcast.

Clinical Social Worker for Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute

Amy Roberts is currently employed as a licensed clinical social worker at Robert Boissoneault Oncology Institute. Amy has professional experience in the field of oncology social work for over 10 years. She started her career working as an oncology social worker with Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. Past work experience also includes the first American Cancer Society Patient Navigator position in the Carolinas. Amy’s work includes meeting with people facing cancer and their families to provide routine support and counseling. She runs support groups and networks with community agencies to ensure that people facing cancer have access to the resources and support needed.

Julie has been a nurse for 13 years, with 10 of those years in oncology. She is currently the Manager of Oncology Navigation for HCA Healthcare’s North Florida Division. Her hands on experience working with cancer patients has given her a first hand account of the support and resources that are often needed by the patient and their caregiver during treatment. Julie resides in Ocala with her husband and 3 children.

Missy White

Missy White holds the pivotal role of Community Engagement Manager at CivCom in Marion County, which is a contracted partner of the Bureau of Tobacco-Free Florida, is dedicated to supporting the Tobacco PreventionProgram. Missy acts as a liaison for the Students Working Against Tobacco (SWAT) and Tobacco-Free Partnership of Marion County, championing activities that combat nicotine addiction.

Missy is also a dental hygienist who has worked in the field since 1988. She volunteers as a Dental Hygiene Consultant for the Florida Baptist Convention Mobile Dental Ministry (MDU) to help non-insured, low-income families receive preventive dental services across Florida. She is a mother of two adult children and a pastor’s wife. This year, she is celebrating her 35th wedding anniversary. She loves cooking, traveling, and snorkeling and considers herself a “foodie.”
